Have a cuppa

A cup of tea is a miracle cure-all for Brits. It warms you up when you're cold and cools you down when you're hot. If you're feeling ill, you need a cuppa. If you're upset, you need a cuppa. I don't think a British person could even begin to fathom life without their cups of tea.

Mind you, maybe I shouldn't poke fun . . . after all, I have had 3 cups so far today . . .

Football (also called soccer)

I don't get it. Europeans, especially Britons, are obsessed with this sport. Probably more so that Americans are with their football. But it seems to me that there is a lot of running back and forth with the ball and nobody scoring any goals. Why is this exciting? (No offense to any soccer players out there.)

Becky, I have no way to read your comment on my xanga site :( so can you write here? Or email me.
